What is VetsBook?
VetsBook is an online content management and Web 2.0 platform for veterans. Members create a profile to share files and content publicly or with a select group of people or individuals – this becomes their sales content portal. Members also network, use many tools to advance their deals, find and share new leads and manage e-mail campaigns.
Why VetsBook?
VetsBook saves time and allows members to tell a better story more efficiently. VetsBook makes collaboration with partners, prospects and clients easier; adds value to customers and potential employers in the decision-making process and saves time when prospecting.
File and content sharing is secured and managing e-mail campaigns and announcements is easy and inexpensive. Your VetsBook Announcements drive contacts to your profile, where access to any content you post is controlled. You decide which of your business contacts can see which piece of content and all activity in your VetsBook is reported to you.
VetsBook also provides a platform for you to share leads and referrals with others in your network. VetsBook allows you to share your leads privately within your network or post and receive leads publicly on one of the many VetsBook lead exchanges.
When you should use VetsBook?

I forgot the password to my account.
You can click on the "
Forgot Password
" link on the VetsBook Login page. This will prompt you to enter your e-mail address. VetsBook will then send you an e-mail with instructions on how to reset your password.

How do I reset the password to my account?
To reset your password, log into your VetsBook account and click on “Account Settings” then select “Change Password.”
VetsBook Accounts
Can I use VetsBook for free?
Yes. VetsBook accounts are free and only require the members to provide basic contact information. Even free profiles can become quite sophisticated since many types of content are supported. Subscriptions offer advertising-free profiles, much more storage space, and many valuable services such as free e-mail campaigns.

How do I create a VetsBook profile?
First, sign into your VetsBook account which will take you to your MyHome page. Select the option to “Edit your Profile.” You will then see the various sections to be completed. You can select the ‘edit’ link in each panel to enter your specific information and content.
How do I upload my picture to my Profile?
Log into your VetsBook account and select “Edit your Profile.” In the upper left hand corner, in your contact box, you will see the space where your picture should appear. Click the
[edit]
link which will cause a pop-up box to appear. Click the
[Browse]
button next to Profile Photo and browse to your folder containing your picture, highlight, and click
[open]
. Click the
[update]
button in the pop-up box.
My profile does not display properly on my computer.
Please make sure you have the latest version of your browser installed. If you continue experiencing issues with your profile formatting, you should clear your browsers cache before attempting to log-in. VetsBook also requires the use of cookies.

What is a VetsBook Contact?
A VetsBook contact is someone the member has invited & who has accepted the contact invitation. Your VetsBook contacts are the people you trust and who trust you as a professional whose relationship can be mutually beneficial.
How do I add a VetsBook Contact?
After logging into your VetsBook account, select the '
Contacts
' link at the top of the page or the '
Contact Manager
' from your MyHome page. You can then add a new contact by selecting '
NEW
' to add contacts one at a time, or '
IMPORT
' to upload your contact(s) from Yahoo, AOL, Gmail, Hotmail, or from Outlook.

How do I report abuse?
VetsBook encourages all users to report abusive content. In most cases, you will find a

link below the piece of content. Selecting this link takes you to a form where you can specify the type of abuse and make a detailed report. VetsBook investigates these reports and makes a determination as to whether or not the content should stay up. All abuse reports are confidential.

I cannot access my VetsBook account.
First, make sure you’re using the same e-mail address to log into the account that you used when creating your account. If you believe you forgot your password, click the “Forgot Password” on the Login page. In some cases this could mean that we are performing maintenance on the website. Content
What is Content?
Content is defined as the files that a user uploads to their VetsBook Profile. This content can be in a number of file formats such as: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, sound files, picture files, video files, PDFs, and even embedded video links.

How do I upload a file?
From the MyHome page, select the “Edit your profile” option. Once there, click the
[edit]
button in the “My Content” panel. Enter a Title and description for the file you wish to upload. The title entered will be the link that users will see which they can click to open the file. Next, click the browse button to locate the file on your desktop or enter the link if the file is located online. If you would like the file to be private where only the contacts you designate can see and open the file, click the
[Private]
box. You can then check the contacts you wish to access the file. If you do not select a contact(s), then you will be the only person who can view and access the file. Click
[Save]
once you’re done and the file/link will be uploaded.
How do I see who has access to a certain file?
From the MyHome page, select “Edit your profile” option. Once there, click the
[edit]
button in the “My Content” panel. You will see a list of the files you have uploaded to your profile. To the left of each file name are icons to “delete the file”, “edit the file”, and if the file is private, a lock icon. If not lock image appears next to the file name then everyone will be able to see and access the file. If a lock appears then it is marked private. Click the edit icon to edit the contents and you will see who you gave permission to view and access the file. If no one has a check mark next to their name then you are the only user who can see the file.
How do I delete a content item?
From the MyHome page, select “Edit your profile” option. Once there, click the
[edit]
button in the “My Content” panel. You will see a list of the files you have uploaded to your profile. To the left of each file name are icons to “delete the file”, “edit the file”, and if the file is private, a lock icon. Click the ‘remove’ icon to delete the item from your profile.
Can I see how many people viewed my content items?
Yes. Click on the
[Home]
link to go to your MyHome page. The number people who viewed your profile will be listed. Keep in mind if one person viewed four content items, then the number will be four. In other words, the numbers represent total views and not total unique views.
